AKA Peace is an unprecedented art project, conceived by award winning photographer Bran Symondson and inspired by his time serving in Afghanistan as a soldier in the British Army.
The project was curated by renowned British artist Jake Chapman and produced by Peace One Day. 23 specially commissioned artworks were produced by globally recognised artists including Laila Laila Shawa (featured image), Nancy Fouts, Damien Hirst, Sam Taylor-Wood and Antony Gormley, bringing together, for the first time, a dynamic group of contemporary artists in support of Peace One Day’s Global Truce Campaign.
THE SUPERNOVA was enlisted to promote the project, which began with a grand opening at the ICA and closed with a spectacular auction at Philips de Pury gallery, co-hosted by Jude Law. We provided event management services to both.
The project generated a phenomenal amount of coverage with over 400 items of international press, both in print and online spanning media channels such as the BBC, The Financial Times, Bloomberg, and The Daily Telegraph. The level of media attention helped raise almost £500,000 for Peace One Day.
